As part of its commitment to community engagement and urban enhancement, MREIC participated in the expansion and refurbishment of Tripoli’s iconic Martyrs’ Square. This socially driven initiative focused on upgrading one of Libya’s most historic public spaces, preserving its national significance while improving accessibility and infrastructure for daily visitors and public events.

A 300-seat conference hall with uninterrupted sea views anchors the civic core, hosting talks, events, and exhibitions. The adjacent library and tiered reading terraces provide inviting study and gathering spaces, while a signature art installation at the entry celebrates local creativity.

Glass-walled start-up offices and a multipurpose workshop suite on the upper levels support SMEs, NGOs, and training programs, fostering a vibrant ecosystem of innovation and peer learning.

Project Status
Preliminary design and financial submissions were completed in January 2025. Upon final approval, construction is scheduled over eight months, with a one-year warranty period. The project scope also covers ongoing maintenance of the neighboring Planetarium Dome, creating a cohesive educational and cultural precinct along Tripoli’s coastline.
